Lutheran Advocacy-Illinois is a five-way partnership among LSSI, the three ELCA synods in Illinois and ELCA Church in Society. Lutheran Advocacy develops its work plan and policy priorities through its statewide advisory committee. Each of the partners has representatives on the statewide advisory committee .
The committee also includes representatives from synodical social ministry committees and women's, men's and youth organizations as well as representatives from other Lutheran social ministry organizations. The members of the Statewide advisory committee also help with outreach and recruitment. The committee meets twice a year and quarterly via phone conferences.
A big portion of the work Lutheran Advocacy does is presentations to churches and synod groups on how and why the church does advocacy. If you would like to serve on the Statewide Advisory Committee or would like to have an advocacy presentation at your congregation please contact : Jennifer Deleon at Jennifer.firstname.lastname@example.org
